No injuries after CARTA bus catches fire in downtown Chattanooga

A CARTA bus caught fire Friday afternoon in downtown Chattanooga.

The bus driver pulled over at the corner of Market Street and East Martin Luther King Boulevard at around 1:33 p.m. after noticing smoke in the back of the bus.

All passengers exited the bus safely before first responders arrived.

Firefighters put out the fire, which was located in the bus' engine compartment.
