Some Hamilton County Schools student meal pick-up sites closed Monday due to overnight severe weather

East Brainerd Elementary and Wolftever Creek Elementary are closed for student meal pick-up Monday due to severe storm damage in areas of Hamilton County overnight.

Bus delivery was already not scheduled for Monday. Nine school sites will still be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday serving breakfast and lunch for all children age 18 or younger.

Hamilton County Schools has been serving breakfast and lunch since schools closed due to the coronavirus pandemic last month.

The sites open Monday include:

- Wallace A Smith Elementary
- East Side Elementary
- Spring Creek Elementary
- Hixson Elementary
- Soddy Elementary
- East Lake Elementary
- Orchard Knob Elementary
- Brown Academy
- Red Bank Elementary

Severe damage swept through Chattanooga and surrounding areas late Sunday night, resulting in miles of downed power lines, uprooted trees and roadway flooding.
