Police: Two people injured in drive-by shooting on North Hawthorne Street

Two people have been injured in a Friday night drive-by shooting in the 900 block of N. Hawthorne St., according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

At around 8:01 p.m., police responded to a person shot call and found a 25-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victims told police they had been standing on a sidewalk when they were shot by an unknown person driving by, the release states.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
