The body of a man who was found in a creek last week in the Hixson area has been identified, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
Micheal Scott Mathews, 43, was found in Pitt's Branch near the 6200 block of Old Dayton Pike on April 17.
The cause and manner of death has not yet been determined by the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office.
An investigation is ongoing, the release states.
