Hamilton County Sheriff's Office investigating after deputy injured Sunday morning

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a deputy was injured Sunday morning while investigating a suspicious vehicle, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

As the deputy approached the vehicle near the 13900 block of Pierce Road, the driver sped off while striking the deputy.

Injuries that the deputy sustained in the incident were not life-threatening, according to the release.

An investigation is underway, and the sheriff's office is not releasing a description of the vehicle at this time.
