Man faces 23 charges related to auto burglaries in Bradley County

A 28-year-old man faces 23 charges relating to 15 auto burglaries in Bradley County last month, according to a news release from the Bradley County Sheriff's Office.

Tyler Hanks was apprehended with stolen items in his possession on Nov. 22 after deputies responded to calls of multiple break-ins in the southeast region of Bradley County the day before. Additional items found during the investigation linked him to multiple other similar crimes.

Burglaries were reported on Trewhitt, Hunt and Keith Valley roads in the county.

"Each scene was worked to gather as much physical evidence as possible in order to identify the perpetrator," said Sheriff Steve Lawson in the release. "Our officers, investigators and forensics unit worked tirelessly to bring these cases to a successful conclusion. I greatly appreciate each of them and their efforts in solving crime within our county.

I also would like to extend my appreciation to the citizens of Bradley County who reported these crimes, as well as the officers from Collegedale Police Department who collaborated with us on these cases."

Hanks was booked into the Bradley County Jail and is currently being held on a $100,000 bond. He is being charged with 15 counts of auto burglary, multiple counts of theft and one count of vandalism.

The release states that Hanks also has 12 felony and eight misdemeanor charges pending in Collegedale and is on felony probation in Hamilton County.
