A man died in a Thursday night crash in the 1130 block of I-75 North, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
The 18-year-old victim was traveling in a BMW Z4 at around 9:39 p.m. when it struck the rear of a tractor trailer and became wedged under the trailer. After being hit, the driver of the tractor trailer pulled over and stopped in the right hand shoulder of the roadway.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. CPD investigators determined that speed was a factor in the crash.
