EPB is warning its customers in the Tennessee Valley about scam calls that attempt to collect a payment, according to an EPB news release.

An automated caller has been contacting residents and telling them they have a past due bill and that there is a truck outside preparing to disconnect their services if they don't call a 1-800 number to immediately pay their bill, according to the release.

EPB says it never uses a 1-800 number and will never call and leave a message demanding payment. If there is an issue with a bill, EPB's customer service will contact the customer and ask for a call back at 423-648-1372.

Anyone with questions about their EPB account can call 423-648-1372 at any time and any day of the week to verify information. Live chats with EPB agents are also available online at epb.com, the release states.
