A Hamilton County Sheriff's Office corrections officer was arrested and charged with driving under the influence Sunday, according to a news release.

After not reporting to work at the Hamilton County Jail, Damien Parker was found "unresponsive in his personal vehicle by his coworkers," the news release states.

Corrections personnel attempted to awake Parker as they broke into his car window to gain access and found that there was "reason to suspect that Parker was intoxicated," according to the sheriff's office. Emergency services responded to the scene, as well as the Chattanooga Police Department.

Parker is currently under administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation.
