Chicken parts spill onto roadway, closing Chattanooga's East 20th Street

Chattanooga's East 20th Street has been closed after chicken byproducts were spilled by a truck onto the roadway, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Fire Department.

The American Protein truck left a facility in Chattanooga and spilled the chicken parts at the intersection with Washington Street around 7:15 a.m. Friday morning, the release states.

"20th Street at Washington is currently closed while representatives from American Protein, in conjunction with the City of Chattanooga Water Quality and City of Chattanooga Moccasin Bend Sewer Plant work to clean the roadway of the chicken parts," the release reads.

There was no information as to when the roadway might be reopened.
