Domestic assault charges filed last month against a Chattanooga police officer have been dropped.

Collegedale Police Department officers arrested Gregory Stroud, 33, following an argument with a woman who alleged he had grabbed her by the arm.

She told police she tried to punch him but missed and he then briefly took her to the ground and asked "Are you done?"

Expungement papers filed on Feb. 5 show that the charge was dismissed, although no reason for the dismissal is given.

Stroud was hired by the Chattanooga Police Department in April 2015 and is a patrol officer with Chattanooga's Neighborhood Policing Bureau.
