A "wintry mix" is moving through the Tennessee Valley Friday causing some school closings in the Chattanooga area, according to our news partner WRCB.

Grundy County is under winter weather advisory until 1 p.m. Friday, and the higher elevations could see .5" to 1.5" of snowfall. Chattanooga won't see much snow accumulation, but there will be a mix of rain and snow in the valley.

Schools closed Friday include Bledsoe County Schools, Cumberland County Schools, Grundy County Schools, Sequatchie County Schools and Van Buren County Schools.

Highs will be in the mid-to-upper 40s Friday.
