The Signal Mountain Fire Department responded to a report of an explosion and house fire at 834 Fairmount Avenue on Signal Mountain Wednesday around 6:15 a.m., according to a news release.

Upon arrival crews found a home fully engulfed in flames, the release states. Signal Mountain Fire Department Chief Eric Mitchell requested the aid of additional fire departments to respond to the scene.

The neighbor who made the initial call told responders that the home was vacant when the explosion occurred, according to fire officials.

The home is a complete loss and there are no injuries reported from the incident, Mitchell said.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
