Suspect arrested in last month's shooting on Rawlings Street

The Chattanooga Police Department's Gang Unit has arrested a suspect in the Dec. 29 shooting in the 2000 block of Rawlings Street, according to a CPD news release.

D-Marquis Bell, 23, has been charged with five counts of aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm. He is currently in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.

Police had arrived at a local hospital on Dec. 29 to learn that a 26-year-old woman was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot injury. She told police she had been shot while sitting in her vehicle.
