Chattanooga police investigate Tuesday shooting, homicide on Kemp Drive

Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting that happened on Kemp Drive Tuesday night, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Just before 11 p.m., officers arrived at a local hospital to learn that 27-year-old Dequan Scott arrived by personal vehicle with a life-threatening gunshot injury.

Scott died at the hospital from his injury that he sustained at 4400 Kemp Dr., according to police.

The investigation is ongoing, and Chattanooga police ask anyone with information about it to call the homicide tip line at 423-643-5100 or submit a tip through the CPD mobile app. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
