UPDATE: A Crossville, Tenn., man has been arrested and charged with two counts of arson following two fires at Hixson Pike businesses on July 4.

Robert Franklin, 36, was taken into custody on Saturday, July 11, according to Chattanooga Fire Department officials.

The suspect was uncooperative with investigators, and he does not have any connection to the businesses where he allegedly set the fires, a news release states.

The Chattanooga Fire Department is investigating two suspicious commercial fires that happened Saturday on Hixson Pike.

The first fire was reported shortly after 3:30 p.m. at Precision Tune Auto Care, according to a news release from the fire department. A few minutes later, a second fire was reported at Southern Insurance Associates.

Fire officials found evidence that the same person intentionally set both fires.

There were no injuries reported from both fire incidents, the news release states.
