A multiple vehicle crash around Exit 178 on Interstate 24 has shut down the eastbound side of the road and is causing rubbernecking delays in the westbound lanes, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

A truck pulling a U-Haul trailer jacknifed on the bridge going over the exit to U.S. 27 North, according to an eyewitness.

The crash was reported at 10:24 a.m. and should be cleared by noon. The entire eastbound side of the interstate is closed and traffic is being diverted to alternate routes.

The westbound side is open but slow.
