Two people have died in a Wednesday afternoon crash in the 800 block of East Martin Luther King Boulevard, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
CPD's traffic/DUI unit responded to the scene of the single vehicle crash at around 1:48 p.m. It was determined the Mazda Dual Sport pickup had been traveling westbound on MLK Blvd. when it crossed the center and eastbound lanes and traveled off the roadway before hitting a tree.
The 57-year-old male driver and 73-year-old male passenger were both taken to a local hospital and were later pronounced deceased, the release states.
