Injured hiker rescued after falling off bluff in Hixson

A hiker has been rescued Friday night after falling about 50 feet off a bluff in Hixson, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Fire Department.

The woman had been walking on a trail around 8:30 p.m. at Greenway Farms when she fell. She suffered a possible leg injury and back injury but was awake and talking to first responders at the scene.

The CFD's high angle team managed to reach and stabilize the hiker before she was taken to a local hospital, according to the release.
