Vehicle sought in Stevenson, Alabama, home invasion triple shooting

Three people shot during a home invasion in Stevenson, Alabama, last week are still recovering from their wounds as the Jackson County Sheriff's Office continues to look for a vehicle and the people inside.

No one has been arrested.

Authorities are looking for a green, four-door Mercury with a Tennessee tag and damage to the driver's side rear door, Jackson County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen said Tuesday.

All three of the people injured in the shooting at a residence on Ohio Avenue in Stevenson were taken to Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga for treatment, Harnen said. Two of the shooting victims have been released while a third is still recovering.

Harnen declined to say how many shots were fired, the type of weapon thought to have been used or any specific information about the victims.

The incident led to a lockdown at North Jackson High School about 3 miles away, according to a post on the school's social media page.

School officials said student athletes and coaches who were on campus at the time were locked down until law enforcement relayed information that allowed the lockdown to be lifted. Students and staff remained safe during the lockdown, officials said.

Investigators have "several persons of interest," but none are being publicly identified for now, Harnen said.

The investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the Jackson County Sheriff's Office at 256-574-2610.
