The 2020 Moon River Music Festival, originally scheduled for Sept. 12-13 in Chattanooga, has been canceled, according to a release from organizers on Thursday.

"The health and safety of our fans, artists, staff, and community is our number one priority," the release states. The festival will return to Coolidge Park during the second weekend of September 2021.

In the meantime, those who have already purchased tickets can use them for next year's festival by logging into their Front Gate account and selecting the rollover option before Monday, July 20, 2020, at 8 p.m. ET.

Those who do not select the rollover option will be automatically refunded "in as few as 30 days after July 20," according to the release. Full details will be emailed to ticket holders on Tuesday.

Those who purchased tickets for the Live From Here performance on Friday, September 11 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Auditorium will automatically be refunded.

Organizers say they have some "exciting plans in the works" for the original festival weekend and that special access will be considered for those with rollover tickets.

Moon River's canceling comes just over four months after the lineup was announced and two weeks after it was announced that the Riverbend Festival had been canceled amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
