Alabama man jailed on child sex abuse, rape charges

A Higdon, Alabama man has been taken into custody Wednesday on outstanding warrants after surrendering himself at the Jackson County Jail, according to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

Benjamin Adam Tinker, 33, has been charged with four counts of sex abuse of a child less than 12 years of age, one count of first degree rape and one count of enticing a child less than 12 years of age for immoral purposes. The crimes allegedly took place in 2010 and 2011 in Jackson County and involved two female victims, the release states.

The indictments stemmed from an investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office with assistance from the Dade County Georgia Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Child Advocacy Center.

Tinker remains in the Jackson County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
