The Chattanooga Public Library says patrons shouldn't be concerned about their accounts during this time and has announced several changes due to the coronavirus outbreak, according to a news release from the Library:

* All fines are suspended until April 30, and further extensions will be made as needed.

* All due dates are extended until April 30, and further extensions will be made as needed.

* The fine limit that prevents cardholders from checking out materials is now $25.

* All card expiration dates are extended until April 30, and further extensions will be made as needed.

* Holds on physical materials are currently suspended.

* WiFi remains on during regular hours for anyone nearby to use.

All library branches closed to the public on Saturday, March 14, and will remain closed until further notice, in response to Mayor Andy Berke's executive order. Plans have been made to keep library personnel on the premises "to maintain limited on-site operations and support of digital materials," the release states.

The public is encouraged to stay updated through the library's website as well as its social media accounts.
