The Chattanooga Police Department and cold case unit with the Hamilton County District Attorney's Office are turning to the public for information regarding a 2016 double homicide, according to a news release from the DA's office.

Chattanooga police found George Dillard and Lakita Hicks shot to death inside a home on the 2100 block of East 13th Street on January 31, 2016, after a young boy called 911 and said his parents had been shot and killed and he needed help.

Investigators have recently obtained information that has pointed them toward a potential suspect but help is still needed from the community to solve the case, the release states. Officials did not state what information they obtained or who the potential suspect might be.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to reach out to Chattanooga police at 423-698-2525 or the cold case unit at www.coldcases@hcdatn.org, or call (423) 209-7470 to leave an anonymous tip.
