UPDATE: Shelby Ryan Paradise was arrested without incident Thursday afternoon in New Hope, Alabama, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities in Jackson County, Alabama, are searching for an inmate worker who escaped from the Jackson County Jail early Thursday morning, according to a news release.

Thirty-four year old Shelby Ryan Paradise reportedly climbed a 16-foot fence topped with razor wire and fled into a wooded area across from the jail.

Members of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, the Scottsboro Police Department and a K-9 unit tracked Paradise to the area of West Willow Street before the track was lost, the release states. Authorities located several items of jail clothing during the tracking process, and they believe Paradise was picked up by someone in the area.

Paradise is described as a white man, 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 215 pounds. Authorities believe he may be wearing gray clothes or orange jail clothes.

Paradise may be in the New Hope, Alabama, area based off of recent information, according to sheriff's deputies.
