Three men shot near CHI Memorial prompts brief lockdown at hospital

Three men were shot near CHI Memorial Hospital on Desales Avenue in Chattanooga Saturday afternoon, which then prompted the hospital to go on lockdown, according to officials.

At 2:07 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting at 725 Glenwood Drive, which is across the street from the hospital at 2525 Desales Ave. After locating one victim, who was taken to the hospital, officers found two more victims.

Two of the victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and one man received a life-threatening gunshot wound, according to a Chattanooga Police Department spokesperson. None of the victims's names have been released. Two of whom were 19 years old and one was 18, police said.

CHI Memorial spokesperson Lisa McCluskey said Memorial's campus was on lockdown for a few hours Saturday afternoon. The lockdown lifted before 5 p.m.

Chattanooga police ask anyone with information about theincident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip via the department's mobile app. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
