Jackson County, Alabama, woman jailed after fleeing traffic stop, ramming police cars

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency arrested a Jackson County woman just before noon on Tuesday. Troopers say she fled an officer who attempted to stop her for a traffic violation, rammed police cars and finally crashed, disabling her vehicle.

Analyn Wilks, 49, is charged with attempting to flee and elude law enforcement, reckless endangerment and several traffic violations after troopers allege she fled from a traffic stop in Jackson County, Alabama, on U.S. Highway 72 and headed west toward neighboring Madison County, according to senior trooper Derek Campbell's statement on the incident.

"Officers with the Gurley Police Department assisted during the pursuit as it entered the Gurley Town Limits," Campbell said in the statement. "Wilks intentionally rammed two Gurley Police vehicles, causing damage."

Wilks's vehicle became disabled after she crashed into a Gurley Police vehicle on U.S. 72 near Shields Road, Campbell said. No one was injured in the incident.
