Chattanooga police investigating Wednesday afternoon shooting, homicide

Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting that happened on Wilson Street Wednesday afternoon, which led to the death of a 27-year-old man, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Just before 5:30 p.m., officers arrived at 1700 Wilson Street to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency services transported both victims, Tramell Harris and a 19-year-old man, to a local hospital. Harris later died from his injuries at the hospital, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing, and Chattanooga police ask anyone with information about it to call the homicide tip line at 423-643-5100 or submit a tip through the CPD mobile app. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
