Three men wounded, two seriously, in Friday night Chattanooga shooting

Three men were wounded in a shooting on Cypress Street Court late Friday evening, according to the Chattanooga Police Department. Two of the men are suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Police responded at 11:17 p.m. to reports of multiple people shot on the 1200 block of Cypress Street Court, according to a Saturday morning news release from the department.

Upon arrival, officers found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds and secured the scene. They were later notified of a third victim who arrived at a local hospital via a private vehicle. Officers confirmed that the person was suffering from a gunshot wound stemming from the Cypress Street Court incident, the release states.

Both of the victims on the scene were transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EmS, and investigators with the Violent Crimes Bureau launched an investigation.

"Preliminary information compiled by investigators suggest that this was not a random act of violence," the release states.

The victims are aged 40, 53 and 55. No further information about their identities or their medical conditions was provided.
