Two commercial vehicles filled with approximately $450,000 worth of pre-packed meals for Hurricane Laura victims in Louisiana were recovered by the Tennessee Highway Patrol on Aug. 30 after allegedly being stolen, according to a news release.

One truck, driven by Antonio Eaddy from North Carolina, was located off I-81 in Jefferson County and had a removed vehicle identification number plate, but a secondary VIN confirmed that the trailer had been listed in the National Crime Information Center as stolen.

An investigation found that the 30,780 meals belonged to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Eaddy was arrested and charged with Class A Felony theft over $250,000, driving on a suspended license and criminal impersonation.

The release also states that a second vehicle from Florence County, South Carolina with additional meals was found off I-40 in Cumberland County, but the driver has not yet been located.

Investigators notified all parties of their respective property having been recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
