One person is dead after a motorcycle and a car collided on Hixson Pike Tuesday afternoon, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
The driver of a Chevy Malibu was exiting a parking lot and traveling north on 4827 Hixson Pike when the car struck a motorcycle traveling south and approaching the parking lot entrance.
The 48-year-old motorcyclist was ejected and hit by an oncoming car on the same road. He was pronounced dead at the scene while the other drivers did not report any injuries, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, and Chattanooga police ask anyone with information regarding the incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip through the CPD Mobile App. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
