Chattanooga police investigating North Chamberlain Avenue shooting, homicide

Authorities are investigating a Monday evening shooting on North Chamberlain Avenue, which led to the death of a 29-year-old man, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Shortly after 7 p.m., officers arrived at the 1700 block of North Chamberlain Avenue to find Jamichael Jones suffering from a gunshot injury, the release says. Emergency services then transported Jones to a local hospital where he later died from his injury, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing, and Chattanooga police ask anyone with information about it to call the homicide tip line at 423-643-5100 or submit a tip through the CPD mobile app. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
