Suspect arrested in Chattanooga shooting of a man getting out of his car

Chattanooga police have arrested a man they believe shot another man while he was getting out of his car earlier this month.

Police were notified of a shooting in the 3800 block of Jarren Court shortly before 4 a.m. on Sunday, July 18. Upon arrival, investigators located a 37-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS and treated for an injury that was not life-threatening.

According to reports, the victim was leaving his vehicle when he was shot.

Roderick Crawford, 35, was later identified as the suspect. He was taken into custody on Wednesday and booked into the Silverdale Detention Center on an aggravated assault charge.
