Candidates begin filing paperwork for 2022 Hamilton County elections

Candidates are slowly starting to file paperwork for the more than three dozen Hamilton County elected positions on the ballot in 2022.

By the most recent financial reporting deadline earlier this month, a slew of candidates appointed treasurers, reported campaign fundraising or filed some form of paperwork with the Hamilton County Election Commission expressing interest in a number of positions.

About 40 seats, including the county mayor, sheriff, district attorney and a swath of judgeships, commission seats and school board races, will be decided next August.

While many other candidates and sitting elected officials filed financial disclosures, but have not yet filed anything for the next election year, these candidates have already filed some form of financial paperwork for a 2022 election, according to records on the election commission website:

Hamilton County will elect the following positions next year. Partisan offices will have a primary election on May 3, 2022, and the county general election will take place on Aug. 4, 2022.
