A Hamilton County corrections officer has been arrested and charged after a domestic violence incident in Collegedale on Saturday, according to a news release from the Collegedale Police Department.
Ronnie Tyler Grasham was charged with aggravated domestic assault after Collegedale police responded to the Summit at Hawthorne Apartments following a report of a woman screaming for help.
When authorities arrived, they found Jordan Brown, who informed officers that she had ended a relationship with Grasham and, in response, he grabbed her and threw her on the ground. Brown also told officers that Grasham had "placed his knee in her back and his arm around her neck and told her that she was going to jail because he was a cop," the release states.
Grasham, who was off duty at the time of the incident, told officers that Brown had initiated the argument and became physical by striking him. Collegedale officers said they observed marks on Brown's neck and arm but found none on Grasham.
Grasham was booked into the Silverdale Detention Center and was released on a $6,000 bond, police said. His court date is scheduled for Aug. 25 in Collegedale Municipal Court.
