A home burglary was thwarted and a suspect arrested in Bradley County with the help of the Cleveland Police Department's SWAT team and a robot on Monday morning, according to a department news release.

Bradley County 911 told Cleveland police officers about 10 a.m. that a male suspect was seen on a residence's security camera trying to kick in the back door of a home on the 1100 block of Robinhood Drive NW.

Officers were unable to communicate with the suspect, Charles Scott McDonald, and sent a mechanically driven robot into the home to try and find him.

The Cleveland Police Department's SWAT team entered the residence later and found the suspect in an upstairs bedroom.

McDonald was placed in custody and taken to the Bradley County Justice Center.

McDonald is being charged with aggravated burglary and violation of an order of protection.
