Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting on Highway 153 that left a man dead and a woman injured Tuesday night, according to a news release.
Just after 8:30 p.m., police arrived at northbound Highway 153 at the Chickamauga Dam to find 35-year-old Stewart Brodie Luttrell dead from a gunshot. An uninjured child and a 27-year-old woman who suffered a gunshot that was not life-threatening were also at the scene, police said. The woman was later taken to a local hospital by emergency services.
It was determined through investigation that the shooting was "not the result of a random road rage incident," the release stated.
Chattanooga police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 423-643-5100 or to submit a tip through the Chattanooga Police Department's mobile app.
