An 86-year-old man has died after a crash on the 4600 block of Highway 58 on Tuesday, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
Investigators determined a Toyota was traveling south on Highway 58 around 8:18 p.m. The driver attempted to make a left turn onto Rocky River Road as a Hyundai was headed north in the same block. The driver in the Toyota turned left into the path of the Hyundai, resulting in a collision, police said.
The 86-year-old driver of the Toyota was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Authorities have not released his name.
Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip via the Chattanooga Police Department's mobile app. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
An investigation is ongoing.
