Chattanooga man identified as victim of Glenwood Parkway shooting

A Chattanooga man has been identified as the victim of the Sunday evening shooting at Glenwood Parkway.

Charles Kyle Jr., 34, was a father of two and studied business at Chattanooga State Community College, according to his Facebook page.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press has reached out to the family but has not heard back.

Chattanooga police responded to a call of a person shot Sunday at 9:30 p.m., according to a Police Department news release sent Sunday evening.

"Police found a male victim on the scene suffering from life-threatening injuries," Maj. Jerri Sutton, the department's spokeswoman, said in the release.

Kyle was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The department has not said if authorities have a suspect. No further information about the incident has been released.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to submit a tip via the Atlas One App or by calling 423-643-5100. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
