Hamilton County drivers will have to find alternate routes to avoid Roberts Mill Road, which will be closed for about eight weeks to repair storm damage, according to the Hamilton County Highway Department.
The highway department and contractors with the company that inspected the road are expected to begin work next week.
In the meantime, drivers are encouraged to either take the W Road or Signal Mountain Boulevard /Taft Highway routes until the road is reopened.
Roberts Mill Road was one of many roads that were closed or had limited access on Wednesday after a heavy night of rain that caused some flooding.
