Body found by postal carrier in Flintstone, Georgia, identified

The body of a man found in Flintstone, Georgia, on Tuesday has been identified as 68-year-old Calvin Ray Carnes, whose last known address was in Flintstone.

According to initial reports from the Walker County Sheriff's Office, a U.S. Postal Service carrier discovered Carnes' body in a ditch in the 800 block of Georgia Highway 193 on Tuesday at around 1 p.m. After discovery, the body was taken by the coroner to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime laboratory in Decatur and later identified.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, and an investigation is underway.
