A 9-year-old girl was injured after being hit by a truck in Chattanooga Tuesday afternoon, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
Police determined the girl was trying to run across the street on the 1400 block of Dodson Avenue around 2:09 p.m. when she was struck by the pickup truck.
The girl suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, the release said.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police in an investigation.
