Chattanooga Fire Department and Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services personnel gathered to receive a thank you from Nivek Rucker. The two agencies, along with members of the Chattanooga Police Department, worked to save the life of Rucker's 21-year old son, Kaine Varnell, who had been overcome by carbon monoxide on April 28, 2022.
Varnell is recovering and Ms. Rucker wanted to honor these emergency personal during National EMS week. The personnel also received citations and awards at the event held at fire hall number 8 on Hickory Valley Road on May 18, 2022.
