The Georgia State Patrol and Catoosa County Sheriff's Office responded to a vehicle collision about 3:20 p.m. Sunday on Mount Pisgah Road near Trinity Lane. Investigators determined a white truck with a spreader bed had hit a 2007 Ford Taurus in the driver's door area, pushing the Taurus off the road and into a ditch. The white truck then left the scene.
The Taurus's driver, Dorothy Pauline Yates, of Ringgold, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and later died from her injuries.
