Barely two months after a grisly sex party killing in Florida, local U.S. Marshals arrived with guns drawn at the Chattanooga Billiard Club.
Within seconds Thursday night they had newly hired shift manager - and prime murder suspect - Jason Andrews on the floor in handcuffs.
"This was obviously a huge shock to us," Phil Windham, owner of the billiard club on Jordan Drive, said Friday. "My employees were scared. They had no idea."
Mr. Windham said he had no idea who he had hired until U.S. Marshals called him Thursday morning while he was in Las Vegas at a billiards trade show.
He said he immediately Googled Mr. Andrews after the conversation, only to confirm that his new manager, who had worked at the club for only three days, was a self-professed British "porn star" and DJ who allegedly conspired with his porn actress girlfriend via text messaging to bludgeon to death Florida businessman Dennis "Scooter" Abrahamsen after a sex party in the victim's Tampa-area home.
Graphic text messages exchanged between the pair the night of the killing seem to indicate excitement at what they allegedly planned to do, according to court documents provided by the Pasco County, Fla., Sheriff's Office in which Mr. Andrews is charged with first-degree murder.
"I'm (expletive) excited to (expletive) someone up," writes Mr. Andrews' girlfriend, Amanda Logue, in the wee morning hours of May 15. "I want to (have sex) after we kill him."
Authorities said the couple made off with $6,000 in cash, the victim's credit card and a video camera, waiting until others at the party left so they could carry out the killing.
Ms. Logue is a married mother and sex fetish model from Leesburg, Ga., who met Mr. Andrews last October in New York City on the set of a pornography film. They soon became a couple, posting on Twitter their adventures in the Internet porn industry.
Ms. Logue, 28, went by the screen name "Sunny Dae," claimed to have a nine-year-old daughter and called Mr. Andrews in one Twitter posting the "love of my life."
A Twitter posting on May 14 by Mr. Andrews, who went by the screen name "Addison" and participated in gay porn, included a pornographic picture of Ms. Logue and the statement they were in Florida "killing time waiting for a party to find us."
Two weeks later, Ms. Logue was in the Pasco County Jail, charged with first-degree murder for what authorities say happened after the sex party.
On May 16, authorities found Mr. Abrahamsen face-down on a massage table in his living room with his head bashed in and multiple stab wounds on his upper back. He had a sex toy between his legs and blood was splattered all over the walls and ceiling fan, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's criminal complaint.
Police in Largo, Fla., first arrested Ms. Logue and Mr. Andrews on May 18 on suspicion of retail theft at a Largo department store. Police also said Mr. Andrews had used the victim's credit card to buy $400 worth of tools from Home Depot.
Questioned about the murder, the pair admitted to being at Mr. Abrahamsen's house May 15 for a sex party that he organized but denied any involvement in his killing. Authorities allowed them to make bond because there was not enough evidence to tie them to the crime.

Afterwards, Ms. Logue returned to her husband in Georgia but would soon tell a different version of events on May 26 when a Pasco County Sheriff's detective visited their home. By then, authorities had subpoenaed her cell phone records and knew about the text message exchange with Mr. Andrews.
Ms. Logue insisted she had nothing to do with the killing, stating it was Mr. Andrews who killed the victim in a fit of jealousy. He hit Mr. Abrahamsen's head with a hammer several times and stabbed him after seeing Ms. Logue having sex with him in a hot tub, Ms. Logue told the detective.
Mr. Andrews then "forced her to view Abrahamsen's crushed skull and told her that's what would happen to her if she told anyone," court documents state.
Authorities would issue an arrest warrant on June 8 for Mr. Andrews after completing forensic testing of the bloody weapons, which were found in a laundry basket in Mr. Abrahamsen's home. Forensic scientists confirmed a match between Mr. Andrews' DNA and the DNA found on the wooden handle of a knife used in the killing, according to court records.
Chattanooga Police said Friday that Mr. Andrews currently is being held at the Hamilton County Jail and is expected to be extradited to Florida soon.
No one knew Friday how Mr. Andrews made his way to Chattanooga or how long he had been here. Mr. Windham said he hired Mr. Andrews, 27, for work at the Chattanooga Billiard Club based solely on the strength of the recommendation of a long-time patron.
Former club manager Mike Schmucker said Friday that the patron was Mr. Andrews' brother, Chris Andrews, who, along with a friend, convinced managers that Jason Andrews really needed a job.
Despite Internet claims that he'd been born in Great Britain, Jason Andrews did not speak with a British accent when he was at the club, Mr. Schmucker said.
According to various websites where he called himself DJ Veritas, Mr. Andrews said he was from Britain and Kalamazoo, Mich.
"(Mr. Andrews) was well-spoken and very clean cut. He said he was a Marine for 10 years and had culinary experience," Mr. Windham said. "Our biggest faux pas was not doing a background check. We'll be doing those from now on."
