CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- Hope is on the way to Haiti by the buckets.

Volunteers tonight will be collecting the last of food donations for the Buckets of Hope to feed Haitian families as part of the North American Missions Board's disaster relief efforts.

Food buckets may be dropped off through 8 p.m. at the Bradley Baptist Association.

The association expects to take in more than 1,000 food buckets, said Randy Bonner, ministry evangelism director for the association.

"This gives people a hands-on way they can minister to victims of the Haiti earthquake, while at the same time sharing the message of God's love for them," Mr. Bonner said.

John and Lynda Davis coordinated their church's efforts at Clingan Ridge Baptist, which collected 140 buckets. Mrs. Davis said they wanted to participate because they've been called to serve.

"God tells us in the Bible that we're to treat everybody as if it were Him," Mrs. Davis said.
