A woman died Wednesday after she apparently lost control of her car and drove off the side of Town Creek Bridge near Geraldine, Ala.

Authorities don't believe the accident was related to the severe weather.

The car of 44-year-old Orline Gentry Lemley was found upside-down in Town Creek early Wednesday after she was reported missing when she didn't return from work, DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in a news release.

The driver's door was found open, but no one was inside the car, Harris said. Authorities searching the shore in a canoe discovered Lemley's body about 100 yards down the creek, where it was wedged against the bank, he said.

The exact cause of death is still unknown, but authorities believe Lemley lost control of her car as she was driving from work to her home in the Lakeview community, Harris said.
