Vendors at the Tri-State Home Show said crowds so far this weekend have been bigger and more ready to spend than in recent years.
Eric Johnson, a vendor with Beacon Home Services who specializes in custom tile, said he's seeing some revival in the economy as new construction starts to pick up, but the order of the day is remodeling.
"People are at a point where they're wanting to do something new, but they're living within their means and fixing up what they've already got," he said.
The show at the Chattanooga Convention Center features more than 450 booths that run the gamut of home improvement services: cabinetry, central vacuum systems, landscaping, lighting, kitchen equipment and much more.
