Larry Black, Gary Sisk in sheriff runoff in Catoosa County

Catoosa primary results show Larry Black and Gary Sisk will face each other in a runoff election for sheriff.

With all precincts reporting, Black, the former Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force commander, received 43.5 percent of the votes, while Sisk, the Catoosa County Chief Deputy, took 22 percent of the votes.

In other races, all the incumbent county commissioners won - Keith Greene, Jeff Long and James Cutler.

Magistrate Judge Johnny Gass won with 50.9 percent of the votes, while one of his challengers. Brad Palmer, received 30 percent.

A 1 percent transportation tax referendum was voted down with 57 percent of voters going against it. But Catoosa results don't decide if the sales tax goes into effect.

But votes in the 15-county Northwest Georgia district that includes Catoosa shows the tax is losing with 66 percent of votes against it with 25 percent of precincts reporting.
