Ronald Lee Pittman, 42, and Billy Bob Partin, 39, are charged in connection with the death of Chance LeCroy.Three men arrested on murder charges in the shooting death of a 21-year-old have been given court-appointed attorneys and a hearing date.
Billy Bob Partin, 39; Ronald Lee Pittman, 42; and Patrick Shane Carmody, 43, face murder charges in the death of Chance LeCroy, who was killed in his home in 2010 during what police say was a robbery.
During a hearing Monday, Sessions Court Judge Ronald Durby appointed attorney Ben McGowan to represent Pittman, Joshua Weiss to represent Carmody and Assistant District Public Defender David Barrow to represent Partin.
Their new court date is scheduled for Aug. 7, again before Durby.
All three men are being held in the Hamilton County Jail. Pittman and Carmody have $1.5 million bonds, Partin has a $2 million bond.
Partin is charged with felony murder and especially aggravated robbery, and Pittman 1s charged with facilitation of felony murder and facilitation of especially aggravated robbery. They were arrested June 15.
Carmody was arrested Friday in Davidson County and is charged with felony murder and especially aggravated robbery, a news release stated.
Police say the three men attempted to rob LeCroy on Sept. 9, 2010, at his 1211 Johnston Terrace home.
Pittman told investigators he and Partin knew there was "dope and flat-screen TVs" at the home, according to the report.
"Mr. Pittman said that he and Billy Bob went to the house to take dope and anything valuable but things went wrong and Chance LeCroy was shot," the arrest report states.
